Profile
Dr Jehad Ali has built his academic career around the evolution of intelligent and connected systems, connecting network architecture with data-driven intelligence to improve the security, reliability and responsiveness of modern digital systems.
Research journey
He completed his PhD in Computer Engineering at Ajou University, where his doctoral research established a strong foundation in computer networks, software-defined networking and emerging communication technologies. He then continued at Ajou University as a postdoctoral researcher, translating advanced network concepts into practical research for Internet of Things and next-generation communication environments.
His progression from PhD researcher to postdoctoral researcher, research assistant professor and faculty member reflects a sustained commitment to research-led teaching. He also served in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sejong University before returning to Ajou University, where he works in the Department of AI Convergence Network. Across these roles, he has taught undergraduate and graduate students while supporting international MS and PhD researchers.
Research contribution and impact
With more than 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications and an h-index of 28, Dr Ali has developed a substantial body of work across intelligent networking and applied artificial intelligence. His research has appeared in leading venues including IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems and the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. His work addresses software-defined networking, tactical networks, cognitive radio communications, the Internet of Things, wireless sensor networks and machine-learning applications in communication and networking.
Dr Ali contributes to the international research community as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Internet of Things Journal and through editorial responsibilities with Scientific Reports and Telecommunication Systems. He has worked as Lead Guest Editor for three special issues published by Computers, Materials and Continua and MDPI Electronics. His peer-review service includes IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Wireless Personal Communications, IEEE Access, IEEE Sensors, PLOS ONE, Sensors, Electronics, Sustainability, Applied Sciences, Computer Networks and IEEE Communications Letters. He has also participated in and presented research at conferences including ACM MobiSys, IEEE ICNC and IEEE IEMCON.
