The document that decides whether the project starts
A research proposal has to do something a finished paper never does: persuade a reader that work which has not happened yet is worth doing, can be done, and should be done by you. Admissions committees, candidacy panels and fellowship reviewers read for those three things, and a proposal that is strong on one and silent on another tends not to succeed.
Consultation reviews the proposal on those terms. Is the question specific enough to answer and open enough to matter? Does the literature section establish a gap or merely survey a field? Does the design actually answer the question asked — the mismatch between question and method is the single most common weakness we see. Is the timeline honest about how long data collection and analysis take? And does the document make the case for you, not only for the project?
You write the proposal and you will defend it. We review it as the committee will, and tell you in writing where it is not yet making its case.

No. The proposal is the first piece of your doctoral work and you will be asked to defend it. We advise and review; you write it. Any service offering to write it is offering you a document you cannot stand behind.
A grant proposal is assessed on the project against a funder’s criteria. A research proposal for admission or candidacy is also assessing you as a researcher and the fit with a programme or supervisor. The reviews are structured differently for that reason.
We can help you sharpen and test one — whether it is answerable, whether it is already answered, whether the design can reach it. The question itself has to come from your interest and your field; a question supplied by a consultant is not a good start to a doctorate.
Whatever the programme or scheme specifies — and they vary widely, from two pages to twenty. Read the requirements first; a proposal that ignores the stated length is signalling something before anyone reads it.
