Research Thread operates as a research, editorial and publication-support consultancy. This page states, plainly, what that means — what we do, what we never do, and where our clients’ responsibilities begin.
The work is the researcher’s
Researchers remain responsible for the intellectual content, accuracy, data, conclusions and declarations associated with their work. We advise, review, mentor and provide editorial support; we do not replace the researcher’s own contribution.
Authorship must reflect genuine intellectual contribution and comply with the target journal’s authorship policy. We do not sell authorship, and we decline engagements that would amount to ghostwriting a scholarly paper.
What we never sell
Research Thread does not sell authorship, journal acceptance, peer-review decisions or citations. We do not guarantee publication, indexing, citation counts, review timelines or immigration outcomes — no honest service can, because these decisions are made independently by journals, publishers, databases and government agencies.
We treat a guaranteed-acceptance promise from any provider — including one that might appear under our own name — as a red flag for predatory publishing or paper-mill activity, and we say so publicly.
Independence of editorial decisions
Editorial and peer-review decisions are made independently by journals and publishers. Our role ends at giving researchers the strongest honest case: sound methodology, clear writing, an appropriate target journal and well-evidenced responses to reviewers.
Disclosure
Any use of AI, editing, statistical or third-party assistance should be disclosed where required by the relevant institution or journal. Our support is structured so that it can be disclosed without difficulty, and we encourage clients to disclose it.
Ethical visibility
We support ethical research visibility and discoverability — better communication, accurate profiles, and work that is easier to find and build on. We do not support fabricated, purchased or coercive citations in any form.
Non-affiliation
References on this site to publishers, journals or indexing databases — including Elsevier, Springer Nature, IEEE, Wiley, Scopus and Web of Science — describe where our clients aim to publish or verify coverage. They do not imply any partnership, affiliation or endorsement.
