Journal publication support, wherever you are

Most of the researchers we work with are in Pakistan and India, with clients across 27 countries. Every engagement runs the same way: a PhD specialist in your field, a tracked author portal, and a strategy matched to your discipline — not your postcode.

Research Thread works remotely from Lindum St, Manchester M14 4BJ, United Kingdom. We hold no local offices and no affiliation with any university.

HEC recognition (Pakistan)

HJRS journal categories: W, X and Y

HJRS is how Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission recognises journals. The category a journal sits in shapes whether publishing there counts for a degree or a promotion.

How to check if a journal is HEC-recognised

Checking takes a couple of minutes and has to be done at the source. A recognition claim on a journal’s own website is a claim, not evidence.

HEC-recognised vs Scopus-indexed

These are two separate systems run by two different organisations for different purposes. A journal can be in one and not the other.

HEC publication requirements for a PhD

Most Pakistani PhD programmes require published work before the degree is awarded. The rules are set in more than one place, which is where most confusion starts.
