A JCR Q1 economics publication with no desk rejection
A quantitative study on global sugar markets and international oil prices, taken from raw research to a JCR Q1 acceptance in about a year — straight to review with no initial rejection.
Where the client started
Zhaoji Chen’s research examined the relationship between global sugar markets and international oil price dynamics — an area of real academic value, but one demanding rigorous quantitative analysis and a strong publication strategy.
Turning the topic into a publication-ready manuscript for a top-tier journal required extensive refinement, methodological validation, and careful journal selection, all while minimising delays in the peer-review process.
What we did
Assembled a dedicated team of five PhD scholars in economics, finance and research methodology.
Over roughly six weeks, strengthened the structure, analytical framework and academic writing to top-journal standards.
Identified a suitable JCR Q1 journal and managed the submission once the client approved the manuscript.
Addressed two to three major review rounds with detailed responses through to a positive editorial decision.
The outcome
The manuscript received a positive editorial decision without an initial rejection and, following two to three major rounds of peer review, was accepted in a JCR Q1-indexed journal.
The complete journey — from manuscript development to final acceptance — was completed in approximately one year, combining subject-matter expertise, structured quality assurance and continuous publication support.
